I hold a deep conviction that every human deserves care. That care is a revolutionary force for us to heal with and through each other.
Given visual framework from Deanna Zandt's beautiful piece on The Unspoken Complexity of Self Care, this offering is a Pay What You Wish offering - whereby Joshua leads the creation of a community-care pod - the formation and setting of group norms and flow for care caretakers who have a family member/friend/kin/comrade living with a terminal diagnosis, lifelong mental illness, through a traumatic event, incarcerated or single parenting.
This care committee is NOT based on supporting the person with the affliction, but those caring for them - so that they feel the revolutionary power of being held in community care.

"For as long as I've known Joshua he's been one of the most empathetic people I know. The words 'deep listener' do not do him justice. He goes deeper and connects with people on a soulful level. From his first storytelling gatherings almost a decade ago to his most recent endeavour, I've been amazed at his level of 'overstanding' and seeing how people fit together and how their emotional needs connect us to one another in this capitalist, patriarchal society we live in. His deep understanding and guidance encourages us to be better at connecting and helping each other heal."
- Adrian Currie, Energy Supply Advisor, Government of Ontario
I've learned that community can't be found, until it's been built. While most people are fortunate enough to stumble into the circles they exist in now, it's people like Josh who put in the hard work of organizing, creating structure, and fostering the community that allows others to thrive. I've had the privilege of attending a few events Josh has organized over the years and his capabilities shine through in the success of his ventures. Josh is detail oriented, resourceful, and care-centric. He's skilled at fostering conversations and creating space for those to engage. Josh's abilities are at the forefront of modern organizational development and as companies continue to study how humans interact and find the best ways for employees or groups to engage and produce work they are proud of, it'll become more and more obvious how vital a person like Josh is to any organization.

Joshua has a unique ability to pull together diverse groups of people, and create an intimate space of deep presence, where everyone participating is felt and heard. He pulls people from the daily rush of life into important, relevant and sensitive conversations, encouraging participants to be present and vulnerable. He is highly skilled at holding space for grief, and pivoting a group towards love. I highly recommend Joshua.

I think what’s often missed in our groups, communities, and organizations is the value of intentional followership and I’ve witnessed Joshua support others’ ideas and projects because he offers and steps into followership in such thoughtful and passionate ways. It’s an under-developed and under-appreciated skillset that flows so naturally out of him. In order to be successful in this way, I see him bringing generative listening (the 4th level of listening after downloading, factual, and empathic listening) to almost all of his conversations from one-on-one friendships to large group gatherings. Each opportunity to converse with him invites deeper reflection and more actionable steps coming out of that conversation.
